Sprout sources ethically from farms producing the highest quality coffee (and tea), and who are committed to environmentally and ethically sound growing, harvesting and processing practices.

We support Fairtrade Premium coffee, purchasing above market value. Our aim is to ensure farmers receive a fair price that contributes to improving their individual and community livelihoods.

We avoid unnecessary waste by reusing our packaging, using reusable coffee tins, and recycling any remaining cardboard and plastic packaging.

We reduce CO2 emissions and waste to landfill by passing coffee grounds onto Melbourne Zoo and community gardens in other states to compost.

Our circular, ethical, sustainable approach is recognised and certified by leading global bodies.

Social Traders

Social enterprises are businesses that trade to intentionally tackle social problems, improve communities, provide people access to employment and training, or help the environment.

Sprout Coffee operates with a primary social and environmental purpose, deriving all revenues from trade and reinvests profits towards its purpose outweighing private benefit.

B Corp

We are a part of a community of more than 2,500 companies across 60 industries globally with one unifying goal: we’re redefining success in business by balancing profit with purpose. Certified B Corporations meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. At Sprout Coffee, we are using the power of business to support communities, alleviate poverty, address climate change and create a great place to work.

HACCP Food Safety

HACCP is a systematic preventive approach to food safety and they offer a highly recognised certification mark for non-food products and services that are designed for, or used within, the food industry.

ISO 14001 Environment

We are one of only 4,200 Australian organisations certified to the ISO14001 standard which assures our customers that we’re managing our environmental impact. Our Environmental Management System (EMS) helps us identify and rigorously manage our footprint keeping us focused on continuously improving our environmental performance.

Fairtrade

All our coffee beans and teas are selected from 100% certified Fairtrade sources. This means they’ve been independently certified along the supply chain to help deliver stable prices, decent working conditions and empowerment for farmers and their communities.
